Roll After Dark

Tying with connectors

Clip a connector through both rings and close the gate fully, checking it by pulling rather than by looking.

How it is done

Connectors are the short rated links that turn separate cuffs into one restraint — the join itself, sold as a part. Clip through both rings, close the gate fully, and check by pulling. Their whole advantage is that the distance between two points becomes a fixed known number instead of however tight the last knot happened to land.

What goes wrong with this one

A gate that is not fully closed looks identical to one that is, so it gets checked by feel — and a sharp-edged keyring clip is not a connector.
